How licensing works

The connector checks your subscription is active on every request. Monthly rolling — cancel with 30 days' notice, no exit fees. Everything you build stays yours, whatever your subscription status: an active subscription keeps Claude's management access and our connected services running; the site itself is yours for good.

The MCP server calls license-check.php on each request, which validates against the central licensing API. Returns 403 if expired. Cancel with 30 days' notice — the site continues to serve pages; MCP tool access ends and endpoints that call our hosted APIs also return 403.

Do I need a Claude account?

The Managed plan includes everything — you don't need your own Claude subscription. For the other plans, you'll need a paid Claude account. Claude Pro costs $20/month (~£16) from claude.ai and includes MCP connector support.

What about hosting?

Claude CMS runs on any standard PHP/MySQL hosting. If you already have hosting (SiteGround, Krystal, cPanel, etc.), you can use it. If not, we offer managed hosting for £9.99/month — you can add it during checkout on any plan.

Requires modern PHP and MySQL, mod_rewrite, cURL extension. Runs on shared hosting, VPS, or dedicated. ~5MB disk footprint. Add our managed hosting (£9.99/mo) or BYOH (bring your own host).

What happens if I cancel?

Everything you've built stays yours. Your site keeps serving, and you can edit the files directly — or re-subscribe anytime to reconnect Claude. Features that run through our connected services pause while your subscription is inactive (see terms).

Site continues serving pages from the DB — index.php doesn't check license status. MCP endpoint returns 403, as do block endpoints that call our hosted APIs. All PHP, HTML, CSS, SQL remain on disk. Re-subscribe to restore access, or maintain via FTP/SSH.

Questions about cost & plans

How much does Claude CMS cost per month?

Claude CMS connector licences start at £6.99/month. If you want us to install and connect everything for you, the Setup + Monthly plan is £9.99/month — no setup fee. The fully managed plan — hosting, setup, and Claude AI access all included — is £249.99/month.

Is there a free trial?

The first month is free on Setup + Monthly. The Monthly only licence is billed from day one. Both are monthly rolling subscriptions — Stripe handles billing and you can cancel with 30 days' notice.

Do I need a Claude subscription on top of the CMS licence?

For self-service plans, yes — you need a paid Claude account (Claude Pro at ~£16/month is the minimum tier that supports MCP connectors). The Managed plan includes everything with no separate Claude subscription needed.

What happens if I cancel my Claude CMS subscription?

Your website keeps running. Claude CMS is self-hosted on your own server — cancelling removes MCP access (Claude's ability to manage it) and pauses features delivered through our connected services until you re-subscribe. All your pages, files, CSS, and PHP remain intact and the site continues to serve visitors normally.

Does the price include hosting?

Hosting is optional on self-service plans — add it for £9.99/month during checkout. The Managed plan at £249.99/month includes hosting in the price. Claude CMS runs on any modern PHP/MySQL hosting you already have. Learn more about Claude web hosting.

Can one licence cover several websites?

Each licence covers one website. If you run several, set the number of sites at checkout and buy them on a single subscription — the rate drops to £5.59/month per site from 5 sites, and £4.89/month per site from 10. You get one account, one invoice, and an installer link for each site. Add more sites whenever you need them.
