EasyPost integration

Every carrier, one key

One EasyPost key buys labels and shows live rates across USPS, UPS and FedEx. No separate carrier accounts to open, no negotiating three contracts before you can post a parcel.

An EasyPost API key deposited in your account area covers rate shopping and label purchase across carriers. Test keys start EZTK and produce VOID-marked labels; production keys start EZAK and spend real postage.

Real postage prices, at the moment it matters

Flat rate shipping is a guess. Sometimes you overcharge and lose the sale, sometimes you undercharge and pay for the privilege of packing it. Live rates end the guessing.

The checkout asks EasyPost to rate the actual parcel to the actual address and returns the carrier options; the label is then bought against the same shipment, so what you quoted and what you pay agree.

💰

Live rates at checkout

The customer sees what this parcel really costs to their address, with the options they recognise. Heavy orders stop being subsidised by light ones.

🏷

Labels without leaving the admin

Buy the label against the order you are looking at. The address is the one the customer typed, so there is nothing to retype and nothing to mistype.

Three carriers, one account

USPS, UPS and FedEx from a single key. Compare them on the same screen and pick per parcel instead of being loyal to whoever you signed with first.

🧪

A test mode that really is free

A test key prints labels marked VOID and charges nothing, so you can run a full order through before a single real parcel exists.

📍

Tracking the customer can see

The tracking number comes back to the order, and your dispatch email carries it, sent from your own address.

One key, no plugin

Paste the key into Connections and we do the rest. Nothing to install and nothing that breaks on a carrier's next API change.

Test key first, production key when you are ready

You can wire the whole thing up and watch it work before any money moves. That is unusual with shipping, and it is the sensible way to start.

The key is encrypted with the site secret on submission, stored in customer_credentials outside the webroot, and used server-side only. Swapping EZTK for EZAK is a paste, not a redeployment.

01

Copy a test key

In EasyPost, open Account then API Keys and copy the test key, the one starting EZTK.

02

Paste it into Connections

In your Claude CMS account area, open Connections, find the EasyPost panel and paste it. Encrypted the moment you save.

03

Go live when it looks right

Run an order through, check the rates and the label, then paste the production key that starts EZAK. Nothing else changes.

What you need

An EasyPost account and the API key from Account then API Keys. A test key is enough to begin.

How you pay for postage

To EasyPost, on your own account, at the rates your account gets. Postage never passes through us.

What it costs

The connection is part of the Setup + Monthly plan. We add nothing to the price of a label.

Shipping, in plain English

Claude runs the shop through the same tools the admin uses, so anything you would click through, you can also just say.

What would it cost to send order 1042 by UPS instead of USPS?
Buy a label for order 1042 with the cheapest option over two days.
Which orders are still waiting for a label?
Offer free shipping on orders over $75 and charge live rates below that.

Live rates, or a flat price and a shrug

Most small stores pick one postage price and hope it averages out. Here is what changes.

Postage is charged by EasyPost at your account rates whichever way the label is bought. What changes is that the price you quote and the price you pay finally agree.

EasyPost on Claude CMS — common questions

Do I need accounts with USPS, UPS and FedEx?

No. That is the point of EasyPost. One key covers rates and label purchase across the carriers, so you are not opening and maintaining an account with each of them.

Can I try it without spending money?

Yes. Use a test key, which starts EZTK. Labels print marked VOID and nothing is charged, so you can run the whole flow end to end first. Swap in the production key, which starts EZAK, when you are ready to ship.

Where do I find my API key?

In EasyPost, go to Account then API Keys. Paste it into Connections in your account area — it is encrypted as soon as it is saved and never shown again.

What are live rates at checkout?

Instead of one flat postage price, the checkout asks EasyPost what this parcel actually costs to this address, and shows the customer the real options. Heavy orders stop being subsidised by light ones.

How do I pay for postage?

To EasyPost, on your own account. Postage never passes through us and we add nothing on top.

I am in the UK. Is this for me?

EasyPost is strongest for US carriers. If most of your parcels go out with Royal Mail, connect Click & Drop instead — and if you ship both sides of the Atlantic, run the two together.

The rest of your stack, one connection away

Labels are one piece. The same store takes the payment, keeps stock straight, and emails the customer from your own address.

If it has an API, we’ll build the connection

Every other platform answers this question with “is there an app for that?” We answer it by writing the connection. There is no app store here, so nothing has to be popular enough for someone else to build it first, and there is no extra subscription at the end of it.

Your site is your own PHP/MySQL, not a sandbox, so an integration is ordinary server code against the vendor’s API rather than whatever a marketplace app is permitted to reach. Credentials are deposited encrypted in your account area and used server-side only.

Anything with a documented API

Accounting, inventory, CRM, booking, couriers, marketplaces, your own internal system. If it publishes an API, it can be connected.

Built for your workflow

Not the generic version that suits a hundred thousand shops. The one that matches how you actually work, because it is written for you.

No app store, no app bill

Connections come with your plan. No per-app subscription stacking up month after month, and no revenue share on your sales.

Early customers keep this. Connections are included on your plan for as long as you stay on it. If we ever charge separately for them, it will not be for the people who backed us early — you keep what you signed up for.

Tell us the tool and what you need it to do. If it genuinely cannot be done — no API, or the vendor does not allow it — we will say so rather than sell you a workaround.

EasyPost connects on every store

The Setup + Monthly plan includes the store, checkout and your connections for one flat monthly price. No per-label fee from us, ever.
