Ecommerce Add-on Terms

Version 1.0 · 8 August 2026 · An annex to the Claude CMS Terms of Service

These terms apply if you subscribe to the Claude CMS headless ecommerce add-on (the “Store Service”). They add to, and do not replace, our main terms. Where the two conflict on a matter specific to the Store Service, these terms apply. “We”, “us” and “Receptive” mean Receptive Limited; “you” means the subscriber.

1. What the Store Service is

The Store Service provides hosted infrastructure for selling online: a product catalogue, stock records, order records, a checkout flow, and an administration area within your Claude CMS account. It is infrastructure only. It is not a payment service, a shop, or a seller of your goods.

2. Payments go to you, not to us

3. Your responsibilities as the seller

4. Personal data

Where the Store Service processes personal data about your customers, you are the controller and we are the processor. That processing is governed by the data processing terms in section 22 of our Terms & Legal, which form part of this agreement and set out the subject matter, duration, nature and purpose of processing, the categories of data and data subjects, and our obligations regarding security, confidentiality, sub-processors, assistance, and deletion or return of data.

You are responsible for having a lawful basis for the processing you instruct, for your own privacy notice, and for responding to your customers’ data-protection requests (we will assist as set out in those terms).

5. Availability and support

The Store Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not commit to any specific uptime, response time or availability level, and there is no service credit regime. We may carry out maintenance, apply updates, or change how the Store Service works.

Certain functions are configured by us on your behalf, including shipping zones and rates, discount codes, non-standard tax classes and payment-provider onboarding. Timescales for those are not guaranteed.

6. Interruption, loss and errors

Online selling depends on services we do not control, including your payment provider, your web host, domain and DNS providers, delivery carriers, and internet connectivity. We are not liable for their acts, omissions, outages or changes.

You are responsible for keeping your own records of orders and customers. While we take reasonable care with backups, you should not rely on the Store Service as your only record of your business.

7. Limits of our liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law:

8. Suspension and termination

You may cancel the add-on at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing period and fees already paid are not refunded except where the law requires. We may suspend or withdraw the Store Service where required by law, where a payment provider requires it, where use puts our systems or other customers at risk, or where fees are unpaid.

On termination your store stops accepting orders. You may export your product and order data for 30 days after termination, after which we may delete it. It is your responsibility to export within that period and to retain records for as long as the law requires you to.

9. Acceptable use

You may not use the Store Service to sell anything unlawful, to sell goods or services prohibited by your payment provider, to process payments for a third party, or in any way that exposes us or our other customers to legal or financial risk.

10. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms; we will give reasonable notice of material changes and you may cancel if you do not accept them. The version accepted at the time of your purchase is recorded against your subscription.

11. General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest continues in effect. Nothing in these terms creates a partnership, agency or employment relationship.
