Roasted every Tuesday · Shipped Wednesday morning

Coffee this fresh
should come with a roast date, not a best-before.

We roast single-origin lots in 12-kilo batches at our converted foundry in Sheffield, rest them for exactly five days, and post them the moment they peak. No warehouse. No mystery blends. Just the week's best coffee, on your doorstep.

On the roaster this week

Three lots. One Tuesday. Gone by Friday.

We cup dozens of samples a month and roast only what makes us put the spoon down. Each lot is traceable to a single farm or washing station.

From cherry to cup

Nothing between the farm and your grinder but us

Every bag travels the same short, obsessively documented path. Here's the whole journey.

  1. Sourced at origin

We buy from nine farms and washing stations we've visited, paying 2–3× commodity price for the lot, not the label.

  2. Cupped & selected

Every arrival is blind-cupped three times. If it scores under 86, it doesn't get a Copperhouse label.

  3. Roasted Tuesday

Small 12 kg batches on our 1968 Probat, profiled per lot and logged to the second.

  4. Rested five days

Fresh isn't the same as ready. We hold every roast until CO₂ settles and the cup opens up.

  5. Shipped at peak

Sealed with a one-way valve, stamped with the roast date, and posted first-class the next Wednesday.

Kind words

2,300 reviews. One recurring complaint: it runs out.

"The roast date thing sounds like marketing until you taste week-old coffee for the first time. I can't go back to supermarket bags. Physically can't."

"Switched our whole office from pods. The fortnightly kilo of the Huila lands like clockwork and the espresso grind is dialled in perfectly for our machine."

"Bought the gift subscription for my dad, a man who has opinions about kettles. He now texts me tasting notes. Unreservedly worth it."
